Personal Biography |
|
I have taught Career and Technology courses in the area of Family and Consumer Sciences at Needville High School for 18 years. I graduated with honors from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Science in Home Economics in 1977. In 1980 I completed with high honors a Coordinated Dietetic Internship and Master Degree in Nutrition Sciences from Texas Woman's University and the VA Medical Center, Houston. Prior to teaching I was self-employed as a consulting dietitian for several medical facilities in the greater Houston area. I bring to my classes a knowledge of the nutrition field that includes professional experiences as a Registered Dietitian. I have both clinical and administrative experience in dietetics that enriches the classroom experiences of my students. My teaching certificate was earned at the University of Houston in 1990. I also broadened my course work to include family studies, apparel, and interior design.
I have been married for 30 years and have two daughters.
