I want you to know that I will do my best and use good judgement in caring for your child. Please be familiar with our school policies and guidelines as outlined in the school handbook and the notices that I send home. Please read the N.I.S.D. News that is included with every six week's report card, I will also have reminders there too.
SOME THINGS TO REMEMBER:
* MEDICATIONS: A student who must take medicine (prescription or non-prescription) during the school day must bring a written request from a parent and must bring the medicine directly to the clinic upon arriving to school. All medications (prescription or non-prescription) are required by law to be in their original container. A written request must accompany all medication and must include: 1.)your child's full name, 2.)the name of medication, 3.)the amount to be given, 4.)the time to be given, and 5.)a parent/guardian signature. Over the counter medicines taken on an as needed basis (such as for headache, cramps, allergies, and cough drops)needs a parent note and state that it is for all year. If your child is a diabetic, a Diabetic Management Plan will need to be provided by the parent and doctor. I also have those forms in my office if needed.
*EMERGENCY NUMBERS: Please keep your phone numbers updated and and have the phone number of a reliable relative, friend, or neighbor on file in the office. This only benefits your child, when they are ill, the best place for them is at home and also prevents spread of illness here at school. If they are hurt at school or an emergency occurs, we will need to reach a parent immediately.
If you have any concerns or there is anything that I can help with, please do not hesitate to call me. I will help in any way that I can. You can reach me at 979-793-3027 Ext. 1530 or email me at
rychlikj@needvilleisd.com. My goal is to keep students in school and only send them home if hurt or have an acute illness (fever, vomiting, diarrhea, migraine)that does not improve. If they have diarrhea, vomiting, or fever in the night or morning, do not send them to school. I want your child to feel good and do their very best in school. Make sure that they eat right, stay active, and get plenty of rest.
Sincerely,
Jennifer Rychlik, LVN
